Drama Beyond Evil mengikuti kisah mantan detektif andal bernama Lee Dong Sik (Shin Ha Kyun). The drama Beyond Evil follows the story of a former danal detective named Lee Dong Sik (Shin Ha Kyun). After being demoted, Dong Sik was assigned to the Manyang Police Station located in the western part of Gyeonggi Province. Even though life in this small town feels calm, Dong Sik admits that he is bored with his job. His life slowly changes after the arrival of Detective Han Joo Won (Yeo Jin Goo).

Joo Won is the son of the future National Police Chief who is assigned to be Dong Sik’s boss. From his amazing social status and abilities, Joo Won turns out to be keeping a dark secret. Before long, a heinous murder took place in that small town. From the clues in the field, the incident was reminiscent of an unsolved serial killer case that had occurred 20 years earlier.

Dong Sik and Joo Won swear by these heinous crimes. However, who would have thought, they found astonishing facts during the investigation.
